About Captain Mike Andolina

Charter Captain Mike Andolina brings more than fifty years experience fishing Cape Cod waters to the charter business. He is an Orvis Fly Casting Instructor and professional fly tyer. Captain Mike has fished the Bahamas, Costa Rica, North Africa, Northern Marianas, Panama, Venezuela, and the Dutch Islands. He has caught sailfish to 120 pounds on the fly, as well as numerous other exotic fish, including a dangerous scorpion fish. Your time on the "Special Lady" will be an adventure in fishing and story telling.

All trips include the use of Orvis Fly Tackle. Spin tackle will also be available. There is a charge of $50 for each additional angler.

I will confirm the date, time, and port of departure for your trip. Our usual port is Saquatucket Harbor on Route 28 in Harwich Port, Massachusetts.

• A deposit of one half the charter fee is required to hold your reservation.

• Please make sure the check arrives ten(10) days prior to your trip.

The balance will be due upon completion of your charter. Cancellations within ten days of the trip will result in a forfeit of your deposit. Orvis or Custom Tackle is available should you desire to use it. I will have a selection of the flies and lures that are working at the time of your charter. Please feel free to bring your own selection as well.

The following information will be helpful as you plan for your day on the ‘Special Lady’.

The following information will be helpful as you plan for your day on the ‘Special Lady’. I have eight, nine, ten and twelve weight fly rods available equipped with Orvis, Scientific Anglers, or Fin Nor Reels. All reels have 200 yards of 20 or 30 pound test Dacron line as backing. For shallow water use, reels are equipped with intermediate lines with a sink rate of one to one and a half inches per second. When we move to deeper water, we will use either Orvis Depth Charge or Density Compensated lines with sink rates of six to eight inches per second. Fly patterns include Clousers in olive, chartreuse, or pink; Lefty’s Deceivers in pink, olive, chartreuse, and white and a few secret weapons which I will share when you are on the boat. All flies are in sizes 2 through 4/0. Spinning and conventional gear coupled with an assortment of lures is also available. Please feel free to bring your own tackle.

Clothing should be layered as mornings tend to be chilly, even at the height of the summer, and the weather off shore can change very quickly. I have foul weather gear on the boat.

The ‘Special Lady’ carries all Coast Guard approved safety equipment. Children twelve years of age and under are required to wear a personal floatation device at all times. Please let me know the height and weight of your child so that I may have a comfortable life saving device on board.

Various soft drinks and water are available on board the boat. I do not provide lunches. It is always my intention to fish the waters off Harwich and Chatham, Massachusetts as I consider this area to offer world class sport. However, the ‘Special Lady’ is trailerable so I do reserve the right to change the location of our trip should superior fishing develop in another location. Please make sure that I have your local phone number to facilitate a change of venue.
